Memory – Debts in Democracy
Realizamos estas imágenes junto a Paloma Cerna y Hernan Vitenberg como un trabajo colectivo encargado por La Garganta Poderosa para realizar una exposición en la Plaza de Mayo durante el día de la Memoria, la Verdad y la Justicia en Argentina en 2022.
Queríamos recordar algunas deudas que en democracia siguen pendientes para el pueblo argentino. La crisis habitacional, la salud mental, la emergencia alimentaria, los nietos que faltan recuperar, la apertura de los archivos son algunas de tantas. En el contexto actual no sólo siguen vigentes estos reclamos, si no que se tornan aún más urgentes.
These images were created together with Paloma Cerna and Hernán Vitenberg as a collective work commissioned by La Garganta Poderosa for an exhibition in Plaza de Mayo on Argentina’s Day of Memory, Truth and Justice in 2022.
We wanted to bring to mind some of the debts that, just as during the last military dictatorship, remain unresolved in democracy for the Argentine people.
The housing crisis, mental health, food insecurity, the grandchildren yet to be found, the opening of the archives—these are just some among many. In today’s context, not only do these demands remain relevant, but they have become even more urgent.
